Charlie Chaplin's "The Circus" (1928) - An Overview
The storyline while in the movie displays this. Chaplin’s tramp falls in like with Merna, who returns his affection. Then, a tightrope walker named Rex (performed by Henry Bergman) comes on to the scene and Merna immediately falls in appreciate with him. Why? Because his act is daring and perilous although Chaplin’s clown act has less prestige.
